RACHEL PLATTEN TO PERFORM AT 2016 PRO BOWL

PRESENTED BY USAA

To kick off the week leading up to Super Bowl 50, chart-topping pop singer RACHEL PLATTEN will perform in the pregame show before the 2016 PRO BOWL PRESENTED BY USAA, the NFL announced today during ESPN and ABC’s NFL wild-card game.

The 2016 Pro Bowl will be played on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. The game will be televised live on ESPN at 7:00 PM ET. CBS will broadcast Super Bowl 50 a week later on Sunday, February 7 from Levi’s Stadium in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Tickets to the 2016 Pro Bowl are now on sale through ProBowl.com. Fans may also purchase individual game tickets through Ticketmaster by calling 1-800-745-3000.

To kick off 2016 Pro Bowl festivities, acclaimed breakout pop artist Rachel Platten, famously known for her No. 1 hit “Fight Song,” will perform. “Fight Song” earned a triple platinum certification from the RIAA, selling more than three million copies in the United States, and peaking in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

“Fight Song” is featured on Platten’s album Wildfire, which debuted on January 1 through Columbia Records. Wildfire is Platten’s major label debut. Platten’s newest single “Stand By You” is currently Top 10 at Adult Pop radio, charting at Pop radio, and commanding over 35 million in radio audience per week.

The pregame show featuring RACHEL PLATTEN will be televised by ESPN.

The Pro Bowl has been played annually since 1980 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii, with the exception of 2010 and 2015, when it was played at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Fla. and Glendale, Ariz. respectively.

The Pro Bowl players are determined by the consensus votes of fans, players and coaches. Each group’s vote counts one-third toward determining the 88 All-Star players who will be eligible for the Pro Bowl Draft presented by USAA.

The NFL is the only sports league that combines voting by fans, coaches and players to determine its all-star teams. It was the first professional sports league to offer online all-star voting in 1995.
