RULES AND REGULATIONS: Normal Montana High School Association rules apply with the following inclusion: Full court pressing only allowed up to a 15 point lead.
1. Each game will have two 20-minute halves with continuous clock only stopping for timeouts. During the second half, the clock will stop for all dead balls in the last two minutes of the game only. If there is 15-point difference in the second half, it will be up to the discretion of the referees to keep the clock running during the last two minutes of the game.
2. Teams will be allowed two time outs per game. Teams will be allowed only one timeout per overtime period.
3. First overtime period will be two minutes with the clock stopping for all dead balls. Second overtime is sudden death (first to score is the winner).
4. Warm-ups and half time will be at most five minutes depending on time availability.
5. FULL COURT MAN-TO-MAN PRESSING WILL BE ALLOWED ONLY UP TO A 15 point lead AND THEN MUST BE CALLED OFF. Referees will strictly enforce this and only one warning will be given before a technical foul will be issued.
6. Man to man defense only in 5th and 6th grade divisions.
7. FULL-COURT zone defense is allowed in 7th and 8th brackets.
8. Players must play their grade level. The exception is that a player may play up to a higher-grade level.
9. Players may play on one team only and rosters cannot be changed after the tournament begins.
10. All teams are guaranteed to play three games.
11. Women’s ball used for all girls’ brackets.
12. Your coach or team representative will be sent final tournament information.
13. Game time is forfeit time regardless of weather etc.
14. A TEAM MAY BE SUSPENDED FROM FURTHER PLAY FOR UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT FROM COACHES, PLAYERS, OR FANS.
15. All release forms must be turned in before players take the floor. They may be brought with you and turned in at the registration table.
16. Mandatory med-kit and warm up balls brought by team. (we will provide ice only)
17. Home team is responsible for official book. Team listed on the top of the bracket is home team
18. Gate admission will be $5 for a weekend pass for all spectators.
We forgot to add for 5th and 6th grade divisions - press will only be allowed for the last 2 minutes. This has been the standard for all tournaments this year and will be the standard for our tournament.
