Quality Assurance Representative

William Lyon Homes is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Representative to work in our Arizona division. The Quality Assurance Representative is a field-based position responsible for inspecting homes under construction to ensure they are built to company performance standards. In addition, the position works with our construction team to train our trade partners in how to meet our requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Using building plans and specifications, conducts thorough inspections and identifies non-compliant issues on homes under construction. These items are immediately entered into a digital database, allowing issues to be tracked to completion.
- Partners with our construction team help train our trade partners, ensuring they meet our requirements with the goal of eliminating re-work.
- Attends and contributes to pre-construction meetings in conjunction with construction staff to define the quality assurance inspection process, establish touch-points with subcontractors, and establish a methodology for improvement with subcontractors to improve quality and reduce both cycle time and costs.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and at least two years of related experience in new home construction or equivalent experience in the inspection field.
- Ability to effectively manage the inspection process on multiple job sites.
- A valid Arizona Driver License and reliable method of transportation to and from job sites.
- Ability to read and inspect detailed building plans and drawings.
- Must be proactive in safety management, including but not limited to: auditing safety meetings and walk-arounds, making on-the-spot corrections, and issuing safety violation notices when necessary.
