Key Abilities

The focus of the PURCHASING AGENT is to make certain we have the right inventory at the right time for the right price. The Purchasing Agent will manage an inventory of 10,000 – 15,000 SKU’s. The ideal candidate will be:

·  A critical thinker who uses analysis to solve problems and make sound judgments

·  Solution-oriented and able to challenge assumptions while doing the work correctly

·  Naturally curious and quick to spot any anomalies in the data

·  Able to effectively communicate with a non-technical audience (both verbally and written)

Essential Duties of the PURCHASING AGENT

·  Inventory Management & Replenishment – accountable for having the right inventory on hand at the right time to support and increase sales

·  Strong Financial Results – accountable for appropriate fill rates, inventory turns, and inventory costs (leveraging available program discounts and freight programs)

·  Advocating Purchasing Expertise – accountable for maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting other company functional groups such as Sales and the Warehouse in their mission to serve our customers

Job Responsibilities of the PURCHASING AGENT

·  Creates quarterly/monthly/weekly inventory orders, seasonal inventory booking orders, and returns to vendors

·  Maintains inventory data, manages vendor price file updates, inventory adjustments, and superseding part numbers

·  Conducts analysis; provides recommendations and applies strategies to achieve fill rate and inventory turn requirements while minimizing cost

·  Prepares inventory-related reports and forecasts

Education & Experience

·  3+ years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience

·  Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred

·  Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Compensation and Hours

This position is full-time, Monday through Friday. We offer competitive pay with a generous benefits package including 401k match, annual incentive comp bonus, paid time off, and medical, dental, and vision insurance.
