‘All children, with support from parents, staff, Governors and outside agencies, will be
provided with the best education possible at Robin Hood Junior School’.
Dear Parents/Carers,
It has been a wonderful half term with sunny, mild days and really not a true sign of autumn yet!
We have had some more excellent news! Our Year 6, 7-a-side football squad won the borough championship which is the first time we have ever won this! They now go forward to play against other neighbouring boroughs. The squad included: Daniel Finch, Bradley Sexton, Charlie Matthews, George Harris, Joe Hunt, Harry Hicks, Daniel Scanlan (Year 5) & Jesus Abreu.
We were also presented with a beautiful silver platter and two certificates because we won the Borough in Bloom School Competition. This was awarded for our Eco Garden, allotment and school frontage. We are now faced with the challenge of winning next year! There are plans afoot to develop a Global Awareness garden at the front of the school where the quiet area is sited.
If you are in the reception area at any time, do have a look at all the trophies that the school has won recently. There is very little room left now in the trophy cabinet!

Borough Championships
The team played brilliantly to win the Sutton Borough 7 Aside Finals. First we were up against Stanley Park and won 1-0. Then we played our old rivals Cheam Park Farm and won 2-0. Finally we played Devonshire and unluckily for them we won 6-0 with two brilliant goals from out Captain Bradley Sexton, who went on to lift the shield. We now go on to represent Sutton in the Surrey section of the tournament.
Report by Bradley Sexton and Jesus Abreu.
Robin Hood Juniors 3 Cheam Common 0
The team played very well against Cheam Common. We knew it would be a tough game. We won 3-0 with 3 very good goals. Bradley Sexton came close to extending our lead with a stunning volley from outside the box, which hit the top of the crossbar. Mrs Boyman and Mr Pinnock gave us great support from the sideline and urged us on throughout the game. It looks as if it will be a very good season for the team and we will try to win lots of silverware!

Thank you.

REMINDERS
School Dinner Charges
In correction to the last newsletter, dinners next half term will be at a cost of £66.60.
Forgotten Packed Lunches
There are a number of children on a daily basis that seem to be forgetting their lunch boxes! If your child forgets their lunch they must tell the office ladies rather than helping themselves to a school dinner! The kitchen only caters for the correct number of children in attendance that day who take a school meal, and it results in there not being enough food for those entitled to a dinner. If the office is informed in the morning before 10.30am we are able to let the kitchen know in enough time for the child to be catered for.
Collection of Children from School
A swift reminder of the procedure to follow if parents/carers are late collecting their child from school. Where possible, please ring us to inform us you are running late. Your child must stay with their teacher in playground until a parent/carer arrives. If no one arrives, the teacher will bring your child to the office where they can wait safely with office staff & we will try to contact you to check your arrival time. It is imperative your child does not leave the playground without adult supervision.
If you would like your child to walk home alone from school you must complete a permission slip which we will keep on file. These can be obtained from the office.
After School Activities
If you are unsure if an after school club is running or not please call the information line on 0208 643 4329. Decisions regarding cancelling a club due to poor weather are made at 2pm and a message will be left on the information line to inform you of the decision. If the message says that there are ‘no messages today’ it means all clubs are running as normal. In the event of cancellation we endeavour to ring all parents/carers and if we are unable to speak to you, will leave a message on voicemail if there is a facility to do so.
Thank you for taking the time to read this newsletter. We are always happy to talk to you about your child or anything that may affect your child’s education at school. Just come and talk to us. We are also pleased to receive your suggestions.
With very best wishes,
Mrs. M. Fisher
