The European School Brussels I, Uccle site, is looking for:

1 locally-recruited L2 English language teacher for the PRIMARY school cycle

From 1st September 2017

For the 2017-2018 and the 2018-2019 school year

Description of the post:

The locally-recruited teacher is hired under the employee regulations to teach in the primary school as a teacher of L2 English to non-anglophone pupils.

The number of weekly teaching hours is 18 per week, possibly increasing to a maximum of 25.5 if need be.

Profile:

· Perfect command of the English language at the level of ‘native speaker’

· Knowledge of another European language is an asset

· Knowledge of the Irish language is an asset

· Comfortable with children of primary school age

· Communication skills

· Able to work in a multicultural and multilingual environment

· Ready to cooperate with colleagues and the management

· Available from 1st September 2017

Qualifications/Experience:

· Diploma allowing you to teach at primary level in the country of origin

· Professional experience of two years minimum of teaching English to non-anglophone children

· A Diploma or certificate for teaching English to non-anglophone persons would be an advantage.

Salary:

In accordance with the regulations for locally-recruited teachers of the European Schools recruited after 31st August 2011 consultable on the website https://www.eursc.eu/BasicTexts/2016-05-D-11-en-1.pdf, the pay for locally-recruited teachers has risen to € 150.06 per month for each hour of weekly lessons in the nursery and primary cycle classes (step 1).
