ASA Electronics Announces New Polk System
for 2014 Model Year
Elkhart, IN (April 29, 2013) – ASA Electronics, an international manufacturer and supplier of premium marine audio and video electronics and appliances is pleased to be setting a new standard in audio entertainment with the introduction of a new Polk marine source unit. This feature rich system offers a variety of in-demand options including Bluetooth, SiriusXM Ready™, iPod®/iPhone® capabilities and can interface with a digital control panel for two-way data via CAN bus.
The PA450UM provides the marine world with a state-of-the-art system equipped with industry leading features that are built to handle the rigorous conditions encountered on the water while maintaining a sleek, low-profile design. This high-tech system has a maximum power of 200 watts and features a two-piece modular design with a waterproof commander (IPX6) for the helm and a hideaway module (IPX5). The PA450UM has the capability to be easily integrated with a boat’s digital control panel. Once the two systems are connected, the main control panel will be able to perform all of the functions of the PA450UM commander.
The system’s Bluetooth technology delivers crisp, high quality sound to the unit wirelessly from any Bluetooth enabled smartphone, tablet or other compatible device. The PA450UM also features full iPod®/iPhone® control and charging allowing users to take their personal music library with them. To complete this audio experience, the unit is SiriusXM Ready™ and requires the SXV200B tuner, antenna and subscription in order to take full advantage of this feature.
The PA450UM continues to impress by featuring other options tailored specifically for use in a marine environment. The unit has a USB jack for connection of a digital media device along with an auxiliary audio input for other AUX based devices. The system’s NOAA Weatherband will keep boaters informed of any impending, hazardous weather that may be approaching.
The PA450UM has been designed and built with a solid, marine grade construction ensuring it will withstand the harsh elements encountered in a marine environment such as temperature fluctuations, UV (ASTMD4329) and corrosion resistant materials (ASTMB117). The commander features a detachable chrome trim ring, silicone rubber face cover and conformal coated circuit boards which prevent damage from high humidity and salt. The two wire power system features a non-volatile memory guaranteeing that all user preferences will be saved if power is disconnected. To round out the marine grade feature set, the PA450UM features an audible low-battery warning. The PA450UM provides an impeccable, top-of-the-line option for the boating audio entertainment world.
