Prepare Job Offer

In this example, we will record that an employment offer that has been made to Cookie Monster for Job Opening 9717.

1.  / Your HCM (Human Capital Management) Home page might look different, depending on your access.
Click the Recruiting link.
2.  / Click the Find Job Openings link.
3.  / The Find Job Openings page appears.
There are many ways to search for a Job Opening,using specific criteria.
If you are unsure of specific information, you can use the Display Jobs field to find all jobs created by or associated with your ID.
In this example, we know the specific Job Opening ID, 9717.
4.  / Click in the Job Opening ID field.
5.  / Enter the desired information into the Job Opening ID field. Enter a valid value e.g. "9717".
6.  / Click the Search button.
7.  / The Search Results appear. Because we used a specific Job Opening ID number, we have only 1 result.
8.  / Click the Administrative Assistant III link.
9.  / The Job Opening page for Job Opening 9717, opens.
We would like to increase our view of the full screen and will reduce the size of the navigational menu.
Click the Collapse (Ctrl+Y) Menu button.
10.  / We are on the Job Opening page.
The top section of the page contains information about the Job Opening and cannot be modified.
The grey Manage Applicants header and View Applicants sub-header indicate where you are.
11.  / There are 10 applicants for this job, as indicated by the number in the blue Applicants bar.
If there were more applicants, you might need to use the arrows to see all of your applicants.
12.  / Review the Applicants page, specifically the Disposition column.
In this example, some applicants have been "Deselected" (110-Deslct), some are still listed as "020-Appl" and two have been interviewed (060-Intvw).
13.  / In this example, we will select Cookie Monster to make an employment offer (Prepare Job Offer).
Click the Take Action list.
14.  / The Take Action drop-down appears.
Click the Prepare Job Offer list item.
15.  / The Prepare Job Offer page of the Manage Applicant: Cookie Monster opens.
The data at the top of the screen cannot be modified. In this example, we will review specific fields in the Offer Details section.
Although you are able to, do not modify the Offer Date. (which defaults to today's date).
Review the Hiring Manager and Recruiter.
Currently at UC Berkeley, the Letter option is not being used. Leave it blank.
Note the Status is "006 Pending Approval".
16.  / In this example, we need to scroll to the bottom of the page.
Use the vertical Scrollbar.
17.  / The bottom of the page appears.
The Job Offer Components is where you record the compensation amount that you plan to offer your final candidate.
Click theComponentdrop-down list.
18.  / The Component drop-down list appears.
Click the Compensation list item.
19.  / Click in the Offer Amount field.
20.  / In the Offer Amount field record the amount offered the candidate.
Enter the desired information into the Offer Amount field. Enter a valid value e.g. "3500".
21.  / Click theFrequencydrop-down list.
22.  / The Frequency drop-down list appears.
Click the Monthly list item.
23.  / Review the information in the Job Offer Components section.
If you need to make a comment regarding the job offer use the large "Comments" section.
The Save for Later button will simply save this offer and not send it to the Department Authorizer.
In this example, we want to not only save the above information, we want to forward this information to the Department Authorizer.
Click the Submit button.
24.  / The Offer has been successfully submitted.
The Disposition Details page of the Manage Applicant: Cookie Monster displays.
Note the Offer is Pending message displays, as does the Department Authorizers name.
If you forgot to add comments and need to re-submit, use the Comments Text box and the Submit button.
25.  / If you need specific information about this Job Offer, select either the Offer Details link (above the Authorizer/Recruiter section) or the Offer link (in the Disposition History section).
26.  / You have successfully prepared a job offer.
You would like to return to other TAM work.
Click the Home link.
27.  / Congratulations!!
