PJHS DRESS CODE

1. No strapless dresses or dresses with cut-outs (This includes school dances.)
2. No "spaghetti straps", "tank-tops", "strapless (even with a jacket on top)". THREE inches of the shoulder must be covered. (We DO allow spaghetti straps for the school dances. Dresses for dance MUST have straps. Parents may purchase clear straps and attach if necessary.)
3. No mini skirts or short shorts (shorts should not be overly tight and properly fitted at waist height)
*Shorts should not be shorter than mid-thigh. All shorts must have pockets.
*Skirts or dresses should be no more than 2 inches above the knee when standing, or
at the discretion of the principal or the designee for tall students.
*Shorts should be walking-type shorts, not athletic shorts with wide legs and/or slits.
4. No overalls unfastened or with the bibs down
5. No belts unfastened
6. No picks or combs in hair
7. No clothing with decals or clothing containing profanity, inferring obscene/indecent commentary or referring to immoral or illegal behavior
8. No oversized clothing
9. No bagging/sagging pants worn below the waistline
* Pants should be worn at waist height with proper fit.
*No big bell bottom type pants or large over-sized pants are allowed. Pant legs should not drag the floor.
10. No exposed midriffs-no short tops or low-waist pants
11. No facial jewelry or large dangling earrings
12. No hats, caps, sunglasses/no hoodies covering heads on school grounds unless weather permitting
13. No gloves except when outside of building during cold weather
14. No bandannas
15. No flip-flops
16. No shoes which are untied, unlaced, or different colors
17. No clothing made of sheer fabric or spandex (This includes LEGGINGS)
18. No clothing which is too tight, too short, or too revealing causing distraction of others
19. No gang colors (black/white, red/white, blue/white, all black)
20. No holes in jeans AT ALL unless skin underneath is completely covered
21. No pajama bottoms or anything appearing as such.


Anything deemed disruptive to the educational process or considered a safety concern is prohibited including but not limited to unnatural hair color, designs in hair, threatening or disturbing graphics or inappropriate words on clothing.


SCHOOL DANCE DRESS CODE:
This is a semi-formal dress attire event-therefore, girls wear dresses! (ALL dresses must have TWO straps in place at all times. Girls may not wear a strapless dress...even with a jacket over it. CLEAR STRAPS ARE ALLOWED!) Dresses need to be of appropriate length and cut-outs are not allowed. Guys wear dress pants, shirt, and a tie! No tennis shoes or flip-flops allowed! If unsure, please ask an administrator!
