RESEARCH EXPERIENCES

02/2011---present: Research Assistant in the research of sandy soil dynamics

1. Prepare disturbed sand sample and test to obtain the basic parameters such as Gs, emax, emin, .Grain size Curve.

2. Hysteresis of SWCCs .

3. Run triaxial test, such as standard and cyclic test ( saturated and unsaturated sand)

4. Numerical simulation

09/2008---12/2010: Research Assistant in the research of Breach mechanics and risk analysis of dam and embankment under complicated conditions(National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program) (Grant No. 2007CB714102)).

Ÿ Collected undisturbed soil sample and did in-situ test to obtain the basic parameters such as horizontal and vertical stresses, osmotic coefficient of the levee and analyzed their trends.

Ÿ Indoor basic geotechnical tests, such as direct shear test, consolidation test, and triaxial test

Ÿ Simulated the process of piping with PFC 3D and got the critical factors to further study development of piping.

Ÿ Breach mechanics and risk analysis

01/2009---12/2010: researcher in the research of study of formation mechanism of piping central seepage flow channel in embankment (Supported by “the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities” series number: 2009B00714).

Ÿ Permeability test

Ÿ Numerical simulation of the process of particle motion and forces by the advantage of PFC3d and digital photography

Practice Experience

07/2008—09/2008: Technician, geological survey and design of Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway

Ÿ in-situ test and geological survey

Ÿ The design variables are pile diameter, pile numbers, pile length, pile spacing, and dimensions of cap

07/2009—08/2009: Scientific expedition, cross the Qaidam Basin, travel around Taklamakan Desert, finding a series of lakes in the desert.

Ÿ Evaluate the lakes using the method of remote sensing images interpretation

Ÿ Evaluate the flood risks

Volunteer Experience:

04/2009: Searching for water with basic knowledge of Hydrologic Geology in the Southwest China to combat the drought.

Searching for water by geophysical method, such as high density electrical method
