PROGRAM CHANGES
SUBMITTED FOR BOARD APPROVAL: /
PROGRAM CHANGE FROM: / TO: /
Current program name:
TRAVEL INDUSTRY / New name of program:
TRAVEL/TOURISM INDUSTRY
S06
Justification:
Change in name better aligns with the industry as it exists today. Travel has traditionally applied to international travel and the concept of sending people away from their home. Today’s industry has broadened from just “outbound travel” to “inbound travel” or tourism, requiring skills and knowledge in both areas. The new name better reflects that need as well as the revised content of our certificates. Travel/Tourism is offered only at Vista.
