Pennekamp 5th Grade Supplies - '15-'16 School Year

[Please, follow the directions for what we ask: if it says "1 box of 24 crayons" (which it does), do not bring in two boxes or a box of 48 or 16 crayons.]

Mandatory Supplies:

r 2 or 3 - Plastic two-pocket folders (they last longer)

r 1 - Ream of wide ruled paper (college ruled is too small for clear, legible writing!)

r 1 - Ream of white copy paper

r 3 - 120-count or higher spiral notebooks (70 sheets won't cut it!) - Get three different colors if possible -

one for math, one for social studies, and one for science.

r 2 - Glue sticks (regular size - not jumbo)

r 1 – Large bottle of white glue

r 1 - Pair of medium-sized scissors (not small, not large)

r 1 or 2 - Large box(es) of Kleenex

r 1 - Heavy duty nylon or canvas zippered-pouch (not plastic) - you will store lots in here, make it durable

r 2 - pencil-boxes – one standard size (no bigger than 9" x 6" x 3") – one slightly larger. The larger one will be for art supplies, and the other will store ALL of your extra desk items - no exceptions!

r 8 - Regular or mechanical pencils - At least four of them must be regular, #2 wooden pencils.

r 4 - Erasable pens (blue or black ink)

r 4 - Highlighters (thin preferred) - one blue, one green, one yellow and one pink

r 2 - sets of colored pencils - 1 set of 24 colors and 1 set of 12 colors. (Must have R, O, Y, G, B, V, Br., Blk.)

r 1 - Set of thick, primary-colored markers (8-10 count) - must contain R, O, Y, G, B, V, Br., Blk.

r 1 - Box of crayons - 24 count

r 1 - "Pink pearl" eraser

r 1 - set of earbuds for iPad/computer use

r 1 - stylus for use with iPad

r 1 – Plastic ruler with three holes to fit in your binder

r 1 - Large 3-ring trapper/organizer/keeper thing to keep yourself, and all your papers and supplies organized

Optional Supplies - but HIGHLY recommended (i.e., you will probably need them):

ð Sticky notes - smallest size fine

ð Stretchy Book covers of your choosing

If you wish to donate other supplies, please see your homeroom teacher in fall, as there will be a few inexpensive, yet specific items each teacher will need, such as paper towels, zip-lock baggies, baby wipes, Lysol wipes, paper goods, etc.
