Peace PALS are a group of 5th graders who apply, are chosen, and are trained to promote:

~ “Peace” (including peace with self—self awareness, self-control, self expression; peace with others—communicating feelings and resolving conflict using “Compassionate (or Non-Violent) Communication,” peace place and mediation, respect for self, others, property and the world

~ “Acceptance” including: diversity; tolerance; appreciation for the uniqueness of all; belonging and connection.

~ “Love” including: kindness; care; compassion; empathy

~ “Social Responsibility” including: responsible citizenship; care for self, others, and the world; sportsmanship; fairness; service.

Peace PALS support the Hygiene Elementary PBIS “SOAR”goals which include Safety, Ownership, Achievement, and Respect.

Peace PALS support all students to resolve conflicts peacefully at Peace Place through recess duty support and more formal mediations in an office setting, when needed. Peace PALS, traditionally, serve as role models for the younger students.
