School Family Directory
& Art Contest Coming
An updated Duxbury Public Schools Family Directory will be published this fall by the Alden PTA. Along with family address and phone number and family email address, the 2014-2015 Directory will include student graduation dates, K-5 class lists, and useful community phone numbers. Pre-orders will be available starting September 3rd. There will also be an online and mobile app available for purchase.
The information used for this Directory will be what is currently on file with the Duxbury Public Schools database. If you have any family changes or concerns, please contact the respective school for each of your students: DHS 781-934-7650; DMS 781-934-7640; Alden 781-934-7630; or Chandler 781-934-7680, or via email below.
The directory will be an opt-out format once again. All pre-school thru grade 12 students will be automatically included, and students in grades K-5 will be included in a class list, unless you choose to opt your child out. If you would like to opt out your child or family from the Directory listing or class lists, please email or write to each of your student’s schools by Friday, September 12, 2014.

FERPA (Family Education Rights Privacy Act) limits access to student records but allows for release of directory information, so long as families are given the choice to opt out. All opt-out requests must be received by Friday, September 12, 2014.
Do you have an aspiring artist in the family or a child looking for something to do? Have your student enter the Directory cover art contest entitled “Think and wonder, wonder and think.” (Dr. Seuss) Any student may submit a color drawing on this theme and done in portrait setting using markers, crayons or colored pencils on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper, using the entry form on the back of this flyer. To be considered, cover entries must be submitted by Friday, September 19, 2014. Please send in entry to Alden PTA, Alden School, 75 Alden St. Duxbury, MA 02332 or to school with your Alden child in an envelope marked Alden PTA – Directory Cover contest.
