Diploma Government Security

20-24 March 2017 / TheDiploma of Government Securityis achieved through completion of pre-course, on-course, post-course assessment activities, Recognition Assessment Workbook, and two - five day face to face courses. It covers the competencies required for independent and self-directed work as a practitioner in government security management.
The Diploma will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to:
·  plan security risk surveys
·  write terms of reference
·  conduct security risk assessments
·  develop, implement and evaluate risk management plans
·  monitor the risk environment
·  communicate protective security within the agency
·  work with Government contractors
·  manage compliance

Introduction to Protective Security (Non-accredited training) This course is not assessed and does not contribute to a Nationally Recognised Qualification.

5-6 June 2017 / The aim of this two-day course is to provide participants with a general overview of protective security that is consistent with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework.
The program includes syndicate discussions that provide an opportunity for participants to apply the skills gained during the course.

Introduction to Security Risk Management (Pathway to PSP40316 Certificate IV Government Security)

7-8 June 2017 / The course is based on the requirements of the Protective Security Policy Framework and AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 Risk management – principles and guidelines.
The course uses workshops, case studies, and practical examples to develop further understanding in the application of the risk management processes applied in a protective security environment. Participants will develop an understanding of:
·  the eleven principles of risk management
·  the risk management framework
·  a working knowledge of the seven-step risk management process.

Protective Security Practice

13 – 17 February 2017
26 – 30 June 2017 / The aim of this five-day course is to develop the capability of the protective security practitioner responsible for the implementation and administration of the Protective Security Policy Framework within an organisation.
The course involves a practical approach including presentations by subject matter experts and syndicate discussions.
