SUBJECT: Reinstatement of the Kentucky Family Caregiver Program
This purpose of this memorandum is to notify staff that the Kentucky Family Caregiver Program has been reinstated. The Area Agencies on Aging and Independent Living (AAAIL)
are beginning the process of serving grandparents raising grandchildren.
AAAIL will be contacting local Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) offices to verify that a child or grandparent is not receiving a monthly payment from Kinship Care and to document any type of state or federal benefit assistance payments or medical services through the Kentucky Children’s Health Insurance (K-CHIP) or the Department for Medicaid Services (DMS).
