Bakers Waste Services Ltd are a local waste management provider; our operations include the collection and the processing of waste materials collected from commercial and domestic customers in Leicester and Northampton.

Our ongoing objectives as a company are as follows:

·  To grow the business to include additional geographical areas under our waste management collections

·  To use innovative methods & technologies to manage waste and our operations in a more environmentally responsible manner

·  To expand the number of waste materials we collect from our customers

·  To divert as much waste from landfill as possible

We are committed to embedding continuous environmental improvement into our business model and we will continue to improve our environmental performance by adopting techniques and equipment that is focused on pollution prevention, waste minimisation, re-use of materials, and recycling.

Environmental objectives & targets will be set on an annual basis and their likelihood of achievement reviewed on a monthly basis. The responsibility for this policy lies with the Managing Director; the responsibility of implementation for a workable Environmental Management System (EMS) has been assigned to QSHE Officer.

Our Commitment to the Environment

This policy is primarily aimed at its operational recycling site specified within the scope of ISO 14001, however the ethos of the policy can be applied across the business as a whole.

To continue to manage our environmental aspects, impacts and risks we have committed to:

·  Maintain a workable Environmental Management System (EMS) to the requirements of ISO 14001:2004 standard and to transfer to the ISO 14001:2015 standard in 2018.

·  To achieve objectives and targets set for Northampton site in order to improve site efficiency and environmental performance.

·  To increase the scope of the Environmental Management System to include at least one additional site by the end of 2019.

·  To continually review, and where required, introduce control measures in order to improve environmental performance.

·  Continue to promote staff awareness of environmental issues through instruction, information and training.

·  Work towards 0% landfill.

·  Monitor fuel usage and where possible implement fuel efficiency techniques in order to reduce environmental impact associated with plant and transport.

·  Ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations and other requirements as a minimum.
