WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
CALL TO WORSHIP
Psalm 97:1-2
PRAYER OF ADORATION
HYMNS OF ADORATION
Come People of the Risen King
Words and Music: Keith and Kristyn Getty; Stuart Townend
Come, people of the Risen King, who delight to bring Him praise; come all and tune your hearts to sing to the Morning Star of grace. From the shifting shadows of the earth, we will lift our eyes to Him, where steady arms of mercy reach to gather children in.
Chorus: Rejoice, Rejoice! Let every tongue rejoice!
One heart, one voice; O Church of Christ, rejoice!
Come those whose joy is morning sun, and those weeping through the night; come those who tell of battles won, and those struggling in the fight. For His perfect love will never change, and His mercies never cease; but follow us through all our days, with the certain hope of peace. Chorus
Come, young and old from every land - men and women of the faith; come, those with full or empty hands - find the riches of His grace. Over all the world, His people sing -
shore to shore we hear them call; the Truth that cries through every age: “Our God is all in all”! Chorus
O the Deep, Deep Love
Music: Sovereign Grace Music
Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus vast, unmeasured,
boundless free; rolling as a mighty ocean in its fullness
over me. Underneath me all around me is the current
of Your love; leading onward, leading homeward
to Your glorious rest above.
Chorus: Oh the deep, deep love;
all I need and trust, is the deep, deep love of Jesus.
Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus spread His praise from shore to shore; how He came to pay our ransom through the saving cross He bore. How He watches o’er His loved ones, those He died to make His own, how for them He’s interceding
pleading now before the throne. Chorus
Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus far surpassing all the rest;
it’s an ocean full of blessing in the midst of every test.
Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus, Mighty Savior, precious Friend; You will bring us home to glory, where Your love will never end. Chorus
CONFESSION OF SIN
O Lord, we want to enter Your presence, awed by Your majesty, greatness, and glory; but encouraged by Your love. Yet, there is a coldness in our hearts, hardness toward You, and unwillingness to admit our sin and our need for You. Forgive us, for Jesus’ sake. Come near and strengthen us until Christ reigns supreme within us, in every thought, word, and deed; in a faith that purifies the heart, overcomes the world, works by love, fastens us to You,
and always clings to the cross. Hear, O Lord and be merciful to us! Amen.
SILENT CONFESSION OF SIN
ASSURANCE OF PARDON
1 John 4:10
HYMN OF PARDON
Beneath the Cross of Jesus
Music: Christopher Miner
Beneath the cross of Jesus I fain would take my stand,
the shadow of a mighty rock within a weary land; a home within the wilderness, a rest upon the way, from the burning of the noontide heat, and the burden of the day.
Upon the cross of Jesus, mine eye at times can see the very dying form of One Who suffered there for me; and from my stricken heart with tears two wonders I confess the wonders of redeeming love and my unworthiness.
I take, O cross, thy shadow for my abiding place: I ask no other sunshine than the sunshine of His face; content to let the world go by to know no gain nor loss, my sinful self my only shame, my glory, all the cross.
CONFESSION OF FAITH
The Heidelberg Catechism
Question 52: What comfort is it to you that "Christ shall come again to judge the living and the dead"?
Answer: That in all my sorrows and persecutions, with uplifted head I look for the very same person, who before offered himself for my sake, to the tribunal of God, and has removed all curse from me, to come as judge from heaven: who shall cast all his and my enemies into everlasting condemnation, but shall translate me with all his chosen ones to himself, into heavenly joys and glory.
NEW TESTAMENT READING
Matthew 13:24-30
Leader: This is the Word of the Lord.
All: Thanks be to God.

WORSHIP THROUGH GIVING
DOXOLOGY AND PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below; praise him above, ye heavenly host: praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
SERMON
“The End Will Be Worse Than We Think” Amos 8:1-14
THE SACRAMENT OF THE LORD’S SUPPER
We welcome all Christians who are trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, who have been baptized, and who are identified appropriately with a congregation that proclaims the gospel, to participate in the Lord’s Supper. Children who have been examined by the elders and admitted to the Lord’s Table are also invited to partake of this Sacrament. If you are not a Christian, or you are not prepared to share in this sacrament, we encourage you to spend this time in prayer, reflecting on your need for God’s mercy and on his gracious provision of a sin-bearing Savior,
the Lord Jesus Christ.
HYMN OF RESPONSE
Behold the Lamb
Music and Lyrics: Keith and Kristyn Getty; Stuart Townend
Behold the Lamb who bears our sins away, slain for us - and we remember; the promise made that all who come in faith
find forgiveness at the cross. So we share in this bread of life,
and we drink of His sacrifice as a sign of our bonds of peace,
around the table of the King.
The body of our Saviour Jesus Christ, torn for you - eat and remember; the wounds that heal, the death that brings us life
paid the price to make us one. So we share in this bread of life, and we drink of His sacrifice as a sign of our bonds of love, around the table of the King.
The blood that cleanses every stain of sin, shed for you - drink and remember; He drained death's cup that all may enter in to receive the life of God. So we share in this bread of life, and we drink of His sacrifice as a sign of our bonds of grace, around the table of the King.
And so with thankfulness and faith we rise to respond, - and to remember, our call to follow in the steps of Christ as His body here on earth. As we share in His suffering we proclaim Christ will come again! And we’ll join in the feast of heaven
around the table of the King.

“God will invade. But I wonder whether people who ask God to interfere openly and directly in our world quite realize what it will be like when He does. When that happens, it is the end of the world. When the author walks on to the stage the play is over… For this time it will be God without disguise; something so overwhelming that it will strike either irresistible love or irresistible horror into every creature. It will be too late then to choose your side.” - C.S. Lewis
