Onboarding Tool Browser Set Up

Welcome. Before getting started, please check your browser settings to ensure that you will be able to open forms and electronically sign and submit them in the tool. The tool uses Adobe reader for forms and notices inside of the tool. Some browsers are not set up to allow viewing, signing and submitting forms in the tool and as such, must be updated. A system message will appear at login if the employee’s settings need to be changed.

Verified compatible browsers are: Firefox, IE 8 and up, and Safari.

First, ensure Adobe Acrobat Reader is installed by going to:

Start Menu > All Programs > confirm that Adobe Reader is on the list.

If Adobe PDF Reader isn’t listed, download it at be.com/reader/. Once it is confirmed that Adobe Reader is loaded on the computer, please click on your browser link below to verify browser settings.

Please note: If you are still unable to sign and submit the form, access another browser or a computer, if available, and follow applicable browser configuration included in this document.

Safari

Ensure that Adobe Reader plug-in is enabled:

1. Access Preferences for Safari Browser: Safari> Preferences

2. In Security tab, verify the Allow Plug-ins box is checked and click on the Manage Website Settings… button.

3. Select Adobe Reader from the left hand side column and select Allow Always option when visiting websites. Click the Done button and proceed to exit the Preferences menu.

4. Please close all browser windows and reopen a new one to login to New Hire Portal using the link provided in the welcome communication. You should now be able to successfully sign and submit all forms.

Using Firefox to Access the NHP

If using Firefox, a check is automatically performed upon login to ensure that the Adobe plug-in is specified as the default plug-in. If Adobe isn’t the default plug-in, the Onboarding Tool displays a message indicating how to get the plug-in. Install the Adobe plug-in. If it is not installed, you may encounter issues when signing and submitting forms.

Opening PDF Forms in Firefox

Currently, there is an issue with opening PDF forms from the NHP when using the Firefox browser on both Windows and Mac OS systems. To resolve this issue, you must configure your Firefox browser to work with Adobe Acrobat, and disable the Adobe Acrobat NPAPI Plug-In. Follow the steps below to disable it.

Firefox on IE

To configure Firefox to work with Adobe Acrobat:

1. Open the Firefox browser and click on Open Menu, then select Options.

1. In the Options dialog, select Applications. This opens the Applications list. Select the four Adobe applications. If not set already, change the Portable Document Format (PDF) setting to Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox). Then click OK.

5. Return back to the Open Menu icon and select Add-ons.

6. Select Plugins. Ensure the Adobe Acrobat NPAPI Plug-In is Disabled.

Adobe Acrobat and Flash Player (Shockwave Flash) should be set to Always Activate.

Please note: if you are working on a Lockheed Martin computer, Flash Player (Shockwave Flash) will be defaulted to Always Activate. If it is not, you will have an option to make a recommended change.

7. Restart Firefox and then login to the Onboarding Tool. You should now be able to successfully sign and submit the forms.

Firefox on Mac

Ensure that Adobe Reader is downloaded using the link located at the top of this document. Once it has been downloaded, the NPAPI Plug-in has to be disabled. Follow the steps below to disable it.

Ensure the Adobe Reader is downloaded. URL link for the download is located on the Step 1: Learn More tab. Once it has been downloaded, the NPAPI Plug-in has to be disabled.

1. To disable the Plug-in, go to Firefox browser > Tools > Add-ons

2. Select Plugins > locate Adobe Acrobat NPAPI Plug-in > select Never Activate. Adobe Acrobat and Flash Player (Shockwave Flash) should be set to Always Activate. Please note: if you are working on a Lockheed Martin computer, Flash Player (Shockwave Flash) will be defaulted to Always Activate. If it is not, you will have an option to make a recommended change.

3. Restart the browser and login to the New Hire Portal. Once ready to Sign and Submit the Employee Proprietary Information and Innovation Agreement, a message will appear on top of the web page stating This PDF document might not be displayed correctly. Click on the Open with Different Viewer button.

4. Select the Open with Adobe Reader option and click OK.

5 Should be able to click the Sign and Submit button.

6. System will ask if it should remember this action for this site for all PDF documents. Check the box and click Allow.

7. The form is now Completed and the may proceed with completing additional forms and the I-9 wizard.

Internet Explorer 8 & 9

To enable the Adobe plug-in in Internet Explorer, take the following steps:

1. Ensure Adobe Acrobat Reader is installed. If Adobe PDF Reader isn’t listed, download it at be.com/reader/.

2. Go to: Tools > Programs > Manage Add-Ons.

3. On the Manage Add-Ons screen, select All add-ons in the Show drop down, locate the Adobe Systems Incorporated section.

4. If Adobe PDF Reader status is set to Disabled, please enable it.

5. Restart Internet Explorer and then login to the Onboarding Tool. You should now be able to successfully sign and submit the forms.

Using Internet Explorer 10 & 11

There is a security issue that hinders completing forms in the New Hire Portal. To enable the Adobe plug-in in Internet Explorer, take the following steps:

1. Go to: Tools > Programs > Manage Add-Ons.

2. On the Manage Add-Ons screen, select All add-ons in the Show drop down, locate the Adobe Systems Incorporated section.

3. If Adobe PDF Reader status is set to Disabled, please enable it.

4. Go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced and then uncheck the Enable Enhanced Protected Mode.

5. Add the website to Compatibility View Settings. Go to Tools > Compatibility View settings. In the Add this website field type Kenexa.com and click the Add button.

Click the Close button.

6. Close the browser, reopen a browser and proceed to login to the New Hire Portal. You should now be able to successfully sign and submit all forms.
