Olympia High School Culminating Project
Component 2: Annotated Bibliography
Your culminating project must include research on your topic. The annotated bibliography is where you will cite all sources of information you consult for this project.
An annotation is a brief descriptive note following each source, describing the content of the source and whether or not it was useful to you in completing your project.
Format:
Students will use either Modern Language Association (MLA) or American Psychological Association (APA) standard citation format. The choice of MLA or APA will depend on your project topic and should be agreed upon between the student and the faculty advisor.
Requirements:
A minimum of five (5) sources of information must be cited (no maximum).
A variety of information types must be cited. Sources must come from at least three (3) of the following types (this is not a comprehensive list—other types of sources may also be used):
Books Magazines
Movies or Documentaries Music and/or song lyrics
Works of Art On-line/electronic resources
Pamphlets or brochures Personal interviews
Newspaper articles Editorials
Cartoons
\The annotation following each citation should be a brief paragraph (50-100 words) that includes the following information:
· A summary of the source information or what the source is.
· An explanation of whether or not you found the information helpful to you in the completion of the project and, if so, in what ways.
· Any other information about the source you feel is relevant.
