Nursing Club: Lasting Impact in Fellowship and Education (L.I.F.E.)

Purpose: The purpose of the L.I.F.E. association is to provide its members with an opportunity to identify with the nursing profession and to foster intellectual, educational, spiritual, and social activities related to professional nursing.

Minutes:
o Location for pinning ceremony:
§ Look into Armory ($23/hour and discount for non-profit)
§ Currently reserved at Newberg Friends Church
§ Stay in Newberg area
§ Set up committee for pinning at the next club meeting
o U.S. Bank account for any club
§ Club name, minutes, purpose, date established, officer names, and signature of one officer
§ Not a George fox recognized club – Emily Jordan is connection to validate membership
§ $190 from last year
§ $315 from new membership fees
· Total: $505
§ Wendy: Come up with EIN number
o T-Shirts:
§ Approved by the school to have George Fox Nursing shirts
· Sales department or marketing for approval
§ Last minute sign up for nursing club – all due this Thursday!!
§ Budget for T-shirts: $6/shirt or $300 total
· Color: True Blue with white writing
§ Takes approx. 1 week for T-shirts
§ Shaunna: call t-shirt company
· Come up with design
o Bridgetown ministries – Night Strike:
§ 14 people RSVP’d – will be asked to bring white socks, toothpaste, toothbrush and Band-Aids for ministry
§ Two vans reserved from Physical Plant
§ One person can take the other van if they take the quiz and are over 21 years old
§ Registered that GFU will attend
§ Was asked if we can bring any non-latex gloves
§ Cost: gas money for vans
§ Tim: Driver and reimbursement for gas
o Blood Drive:
§ Location: Vac 117 and parking lot (mobile unit)
· 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM
§ Date: Oct. 27th – Thursday
§ Lunch tables out three weeks before and run for two weeks (Oct. 4 – we will be available)
· 11:30 – 2:00 PM
§ Need 120 people signed up for blood drive 1 week before the blood drive
§ Look for chapel announcements, E-nouncments, and flyers from Red Cross
· Email Spiritual Life for announcements on the 3rd and 5th
§ Informational flyer handed out to everyone to remind of appointment time and ways to increase iron levels!
§ Need volunteers to call and remind people of their appointments, call people for last minute appointment, and work sign up tables at lunches
· Passport for nursing sign-ups -> when you sign up for an event you get a stamp
§ Crystal: Flyer for blood drive
§ Tim: Google docs for table and announcements, passports!!!
