Day 2 / The student has few to no notes or tries to pass off some sticky notes in their book as their notes at the last minute or something else that does not meet the standard for any of the above categories. / Student has a piece of paper with some ideas and page numbers written down, but there is no clear discernible organizational system separating questions and it is unclear that they answered all of them. There is sufficient evidence the student put in some reasonable effort preparing notes. / The student notes look like the student has outlined at least 4 - 5 insightful response ideas for each of the 2 questions. Each idea includes at least a 2 – 4 sentence description of the idea and multiple page numbers where supporting evidence can be found with quotes typed out or brief summaries of the information the quote contains for support.
AND/OR
It may be unclear from scanning the notes where conversational points and pieces of evidence are for each question, but it looks like they are all there to some degree. / The student notes look like the student has outlined 6 – 10 insightful response ideas for each of the 2 questions.[1] Each idea includes at least a 2 – 4 sentence description of the idea and multiple page numbers where supporting evidence can be found with quotes typed out or brief summaries of the information the quote contains for support.
AND
It is very clear from scanning the notes where conversational points and pieces of evidence are for each question.

Emotional Transformation: “Elie lost his faith in God” or “Anne Frank matured”. Style Question: “Anne Frank’s diary was dull because she repeated things and it was never meant to be read.”)
