Marc Chagall: His Life and Work
A Day of Special Interest with MONICA BOHM DUCHEN
Thursday 27th April 2017
O
ne of the best loved artists of the 20th Century, Marc Chagall (1887 – 1985) is also one of the least understood. Although his colourful images may seem naive, he was a complex and sophisticated individual.
He remained deeply loyal to his humble Russian- Jewish origins, yet wished his art to have a universal appeal.
Monica Bohm-Duchen (MA Courtauld Institute) is a London-based freelance writer, lecturer and exhibition organizer with a special interest in issues of Jewish identity in modern art. She has worked for the Tate Gallery, the National Gallery, the Royal Academy of Arts and the Courtauld Institute of Art;
The cost of this Day of Special Interest is £22.00 per person.
