I am seeking a role as Captain on a yacht, either power or sail, private or charter, of less than 50m LOA. My objective is that this role will allow me to build a long term relationship with an owner and/or a management company by exceeding the expectations of the guests on board.
I am an honest, reliable, hard working professional captain who holds an MCA Master (Yachts) < 3000GT CoC, and a keen sailor who has been sailing since I was 16 years old. I am an experienced navigator and leader, commanding both sailing yachts up to 33m LOA and motor yachts up to 38.5m LOA. Experienced with both mini ISM and ISPS. I have navigated the Andaman Sea, Malacca Straits, the coasts of Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, the Atlantic Ocean, the south coast of the United Kingdom, west coast of Spain and Portugal, the Channel Islands, the coast of The Netherlands, the Baltic Sea, the coasts of Denmark, Sweden and Norway, the Mediterranean Sea, the Adriatic Sea, the Caribbean Sea, the Bahamas, the east coast of USA and the east coast of Australia.
I am also a capable engineer experienced with problem solving, repair, flag state safety requirements and class surveys. I have managed small and large refit projects on various sized yachts and have worked with multi-million dollar projects in various countries in a commercial capacity.
