From Outlook Express:

Tools/Accounts/News Tab/Properties

General Tab:

Name: your name

Email address: your e-mail address

Server Tab: news.csu.net

Close program and reopen for above settings to kick in.

From Google:

Select Group

Do a keyword search or type group name. To post, you must login or register.

1. Post new to alt.test.group

Subject: having fun yet

Body: “This is a test” or “Hello honey,” etc.

2. Subscribe to the rec.arts.tv newsgroup. Find an article in that group, and then follow the thread to other articles replying to that message. Call the instructor to verify this assignment.

3. The instructor will post a message to the alt.test.group group whose subject will be decided by the class. Subject: M/F Differences. Post a follow-up to the message to the message.

Next Week

4. Post a new message to alt.test.group whose subject will be determined by the class. Subject: Favorite TV Show

Optional:

5. Reply to a newsgroup of your choice that has more than 50 postings, (cc: instructor, self.) (note, in google cc is not available)

6. Post to a newsgroup of your choice, that has more than 50 postings, (cc: instructor, self.) E-mail to instructor for extra credit any reply you may get in the future from the newsgroup.
