NEW RELEASE INFORMATION SHEET

ARTIST OVERVIEW:

Sam Bush is a master mandolin player who was a founding member of the New Grass Revival and has played in various bluegrass super-groups, such as Strength In Numbers. Sam has played and recorded with many widely renowned artists, such as Doc Watson, Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton, Taylor Swift, Vince Gill, The Black Crowes, Phish, Gov’t Mule, Eric Church, Alison Krauss, Ann Savoy, Tony Rice, Peter Rowan, Russ Barenberg, David Grisman, Mark O Connor, Béla Fleck, Edgar Meyer, and Jerry Douglas. He has won 3 Grammy’s, 4 IBMA awards, an AMA Lifetime Acheivement award, and has been nominated for CMA Musician of the Year 5 times over the course of his career.

ALBUM OVERVIEW:

Sam Bush has long since established himself as roots royalty. His highly anticipated new album, Storyman, is a freewheeling collection that gleefully picks and chooses from jazz, folk, blues, reggae, country swing, and bluegrass to create a jubilant noise only classifiable as the Sam Bush sound. Many of the songs are stories––several of them true––and the legendary mandolin and fiddle player co-wrote every one of them with friends including Guy Clark, Emmylou Harris, Jon Randall Stewart, Jeff Black, and others. Instead of kicking back and soaking up honors, such as an Americana Music Association Lifetime Achievement Award and his suite of Grammys and International Bluegrass Music Association trophies, Storyman proves once again that the Father of Newgrass and King of Telluride will never stops striving to create something new. “I’m hoping it just kind of flows for people and makes them go, ‘Hey! It’s a Sam record. It sounds like Sam and the band,’” Bush says of the album. “But for the first time ever, I also find myself thinking, ‘I hope you enjoy the stories.’ It’s my singer-songwriter record.”

MARKETING BLURB:

Sam Bush has long since established himself as roots royalty. His highly anticipated new album Storyman is a freewheeling collection that gleefully picks and chooses from jazz, folk, blues, reggae, country swing, and bluegrass to create a jubilant noise only classifiable as the Sam Bush sound. Featuring guest artists Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss, Guy Clark, Jon Randall, and more, each song on Storyman sees the multi-Grammy-award-winning, multi-instrumentalist, telling the tales that matter to him. As Sam says, “I hope you enjoy the stories. It’s my singer-songwriter record.”

·  Sam is willing to do whatever it takes to promote this record. He is even willing to reach out to guest artists if it will help get him exposure (TV, etc.).

·  Sam has been referred to as the King of Telluride and plays in the Telluride House Band every year.
