New Pain Form Features (with ND+ go-live):
- Organized slightly different from previous versions
- Two pain characters to choose from
- New field “Presence of pain” available with several options
- If the pain assessment reveals no pain, select “denies pain” or “no nonverbal indications of pain”, nothing else needs to be charted.
- Other fields are triggered when different options are selected in “Presence of Pain” field
1. When pain is present required fields open
2. 0-10 Pain scale no longer defaults
3. The pain scale selected triggers fields or pop-up windows to open
4. Pain level options for the 0-10 scale have number and descriptions of Mild-Moderate-Severe
5. Pain scale options are age flexed below are the options for a 3 year old
6. When FLACC or Behavioral Pain Assessment Scale are selected this pop up opens for charting:
7. Scores for either display in the appropriate field
8. Upon pain re-assessment if the patient is free of pain, selections farther down the form are still available to chart patient’s perception or interventions that are being continued to control the pain.
9. Pain assessment/re-assessment charting from a task/form will display on the Monitoring and Systems Assessment bands in IView. Pain assessment/re-assessment may also be charted directly in IView.
