Unless you bring your account current or make satisfactory arrangements with our office by will be necessary to proceed with stringent enforcement action such as income withholding, garnishment or a contempt hearing which may result in a jail sentence. Your case may also be reported as delinquent to the credit-reporting agency.

This agency also refers non-custodial parents in the latter category for license revocation to all boards and commissions that regulate professional, occupational, drivers and recreational licenses pursuant to the Parental Responsibility Act, NMSA 1978, 40-5A-1 et seq. You may also have winnings from the New Mexico Lottery intercepted for delinquent child support. Your case may also be referred to a collection agency if it meets departmental criteria.
