Charles McDowell – Moore County, Rhonda Fleming-Forsyth, Derek Graham-DPI, Jim Ellis-Chapel Hill/Carrboro City, Binford Sloan- Nash/Rocky Mt, David Twitty – Dare, Keith Wilmot-Transylvania, Gary Profitt-Madison, Regina Denton-Wilson, Scott Denton-Durham, Vicki Wilson-Cumberland, Dianne Grumelot-Cumberland, Chris Jones-Robeson, Steven Saunders-Moore
· 1:10 PM Meeting called to order

· Minutes were read by Rhonda Fleming, motion of minutes Chris Jones, Steve Saunders 2nd
· Treasury Report $52,709.11 balance – tabled until next meeting
· Vicki Wilson – Cumberland County- Service pins and membership
o Need a way to track people when membership is submitted-issue for members who change counties to track membership-Discussion of last name and last 4 digits of social security number + LEA#-start collecting info. on each member
o Cost of Pins – Brown Industries, 5-20 yrs pins $4.95
25+ yrs - $38.48+tax+shipping & handling
Past President - $49.00 + tax + shipping and handling
Data will be rolled up on previous years order
Brown: $669.10 + $20.50+ S & H
Herf Jones: $1,011.61 + $11.00 S & H
· Derek Graham – DOT/NC STATE ITRE
o Resources to provide safety training for students, twice a year
Training required – need for more training walking to & from
Bus stop – Good discussion, working curriculum for NC
o Processing Financial paperwork to order buses- buses are cheaper this year, 1221 buses replaced “lions share” Thomas – Dahlmer will do financing
o Theory behind replacement of flat floors – floor plan of 42 passenger bus make it limited- local option of flat floor
· David Twitty – New Logo in design , presented former logo dated back to 1960’s
o Need to order new shirts
o Rhonda motioned, Charles 2nd to accept new logo
· Recommendation to Rename
o 2012 Transposium recommendation
o Generate letter to all Superintendents of training which occurs
o Diane motioned, Scott’s wife’s 2nd
· Binford Sloan – Summer Conference –Assoc. secured 250 rooms @ $129 per night + tax
o Registration forms are ready, expecting next week
o Exhibitor packets are ready – but will not be sent until districts have them
o Monday – pre-conference & paid classes
o Tuesday – regular & paid classes/ NC Aquarium that night
o Wednesday – AM classes/afternoon General Session, Vendor Roll Call,
4 - 6 PM – trade show
o Thursday – 7 – 10 AM Trade Show/Inspection Contest hands-on
§ Association Awards – all awards and election
§ Afternoon –Classes
§ PM – Janette’s Pier
o Friday – AM Classes
Nomination Committee will be sent out by Jim Ellis
· Scott Denton – NCASA – Fundamental belief document
o Jim Ellis – school administrator, finance, food services failed to specify anything about school bus
Replacement of buses – needed language revision to include Transportation
1. 180 day – appeal 5 additional days – to appeal or lengthen day , speaker Tillis is in favor of change- reviewed in short session in May – DPI accessing request
2. Fuel - $2.51 funded/actual $3.06
o $7M for an additional allotment
3. TORT Claims & school bus purchases could be on chopping block
· David Twitty – Classes/Training – all training at conference
· Recognition and Hall of Fame will be sent by Charles
· TAG Committee – Don Byrnes request of report
· Old Business – Jerry made motion to increase dues – revisit motion
o Current dues - $5.00
Recommendation - $10.00- feedback Steve’s district
o Money is needed to help offset cost of Summer Conference
o Scott – “recommend to increase dues to increase cost to conduct business”

§ Rhonda recommended 5 yr cost trend data be reviewed
§ Charles recommended a set amount
§ Steve recommended $10.00
§ Binford said it doesn’t cover cost
§ Amend last motion to $10.00 for state dues
