Attendance Improvement Plan DRAFT August 4, 2005

1. Set a realistic goal

·  98% attendance.

2. Make a practical plan

The basic plan:

·  Communicate with the parents the importance of attendance in regards to academics and the financial benefits for funding.

1. Communicate the plan. How we’ll share this plan for progress.

·  Explain to teachers details of attendance funding. At September open house explain to parents the importance and share what the rewards are for school and students.

2. Monitor the plan. How we will make sure it happens.

·  Daily, Mr. Liggins has daily attendance records. Discuss progress of plan and teachers monitor their classroom attendance weekly. A week, if necessary monthly at LSC, BAC, NCLB, PPLC meetings.

3. Recognize the progress. How we will celebrate the achievements.

·  Class with the highest percent of attendance per month receives extra day of gym. Daily announce over intercom. Weekly certificate to be hung for all to see. Yearly classroom wins pizza party. Include perfect/highest attendance in teacher newsletters and on marquee.
