Volunteer Supervisor

The Volunteer Supervisor will be the point of contact for the volunteer coordinators. He/She will have overall responsibility for the Volunteer Management Program, ensuring that each Clubhouse program is staffed with the appropriate number of volunteers prior to the beginning of a program cycle. He/she will motivate and foster positive self-esteem, decision making, problem solving, responsibility, leadership, among the Volunteer Coordinators.

·  Supervise Volunteer Coordinators to ensure an effective Volunteer Program

·  Coordinate the Civic Corps to ensure BCNY meets all program requirements

·  Assessing organizational need and capacity for volunteers

·  Create or review volunteer position descriptions

·  Supervise outreach process

·  Manage screening and matching process to ensure good fit

·  Supervise the onboarding process for volunteers

·  Oversee risk management process, ensuring low risk for members, staff and volunteers

·  Oversee program evaluation process

QUALIFICATIONS

·  Ability to work/ volunteer on a consistent basis – minimum of 1 cycle (9-11 weeks), 3-6 hours a week is preferred.

·  Experience with project management.

·  Experience managing and communicating to large groups in multiple locations

·  Ability to communicate with youth and adults.

·  Ability to organize, plan and carry out assignments.

Volunteer applicants must be 18 + years of age. All volunteer applicants will be fingerprinted, must pass a criminal background check, and provide a completed medical history form and proof of a negative tuberculin test prior to the date of employment. BCNY provides the background and DOH fingerprint service to volunteers.
