Then click on “Go”

Step #3: Type in a “Course Name” (this name will be seen by the students when they log in)

Note: Course Dates are now required to be entered. I would set the enrollment start date and the course start date the same as the date you are creating the course. I strongly recommend setting the enrollment end date and the course end date for 1 year after their start dates.

Then click on “Create Course Now”

Help Resources:

John Elliott J Office: (314) 984-7468 Email: I am always glad to help faculty with any questions about MyMathLab. Pearson is no longer providing MyMathLab code folders to me, so I can do little to help students that need to return their books.

Eric Olson Cell: (913) 523-6290 Email: Our MML Pearson Representative

Instructor Tech Support: (888) 695-6577 24 hours a day/7 days a week

MML Student Tech Support: (800) 677-6337 24 hours a day/7 days a week

Note: Pearson has a ton of other tech support numbers that still work, but many seem to take you to a more generic Pearson help-line.

Training Resources & How-to-Videos from Pearson

Many questions that you have about how to do things in MyMathLab can probably be answered by watching one of the how-to videos at www.mymathlab.com/training-resources There are also links to free online, live, web-ex training sessions.

Check MML status. You can check this website to see if MyMathLab is currently down, or was down in the last few weeks.

For Spring 2016 Updates go to:

[No big changes. They added a +/- button, but I can only find it on their HTML 5 player for mobile devices.]

Non-Laptop Update (From fall 2015)

Pearson basically says that they don’t fully support any tablet or phone, but the experience has been improved with the

summer update. I plan on telling my students that if they have a fairly new tablet it will probably work with a little tweaking, but plan on saving it for emergencies.

General Non-Laptop (from Pearson) – “To work successfully with MyMathLab, your computer must match one of the supported browser and operating system (OS) configurations. MyMathLab may also run on newer versions of these browsers, but a version is not considered fully supported until it is specified.

Most MyMathLab courses support either Windows® or Macintosh® operating systems and a supported version of Microsoft Internet Explorer®, Firefox®, or Safari®. Other requirements vary, depending on the textbook in use for the course. Note that these requirements are only for MyMathLab itself. Players or plug-ins may have their own system requirements.”

General Non-Laptop (from John) – Most any modern tablet or phone will be able to access portions of MyMathLab, but it won’t be as good as from a laptop.

iPad (from Pearson) – MyMathLab is compatible with iOS 7 and iOS 8 using Safari on an iPad.

iPad (from John) – I got it to work by accepting cookies http://tinyurl.com/ipadcookies1 and clearing caches http://tinyurl.com/ipadcookies2 . I was able to work problems, and watch videos in the browser. I could view the e-Text with a free app. Entering answers was a little easier with the summer 2015 update.

Other (from Pearson) – MyMathLab is compatible with Android 4.2 through 5.1 using Chrome.

Other (from John) – I was able to work problems and watch videos with my Kindle Fire and my Android phone.
