ARTIST BIO
Statement
My passion is creating "figurative works" --strong watercolor paintings of people that illuminate personalities, explore character and play with persona. Impressionistic in nature, my original pieces are identifiable subjects versus a traditional portrait. I reference my own photographs, acquired snap shots and life drawing.
I have a background in graphic design and photography as well as the fine art I have explored through out my life. My creative works are exhibited in regional and international shows, often receiving awards. I paint commissions, give workshops and demos, jury art exhibitions and participate in art organizations.
A special honor is the 2011 American Watercolor Society Gold Medal of Honor for my painting “Kenneth”.
