The first thing that any new Silhouette Enthusiast needs to do is to read the Silhouette User Manual. I know, B-O-R-I-N-G. But it really has some great information. Also, instead of saying “that icon that looks like a piece of blue bread,” you will know that it’s your Tracing Options menu.

Designing Tips:
· Silhouette Design Store releases one free file each week (sometimes more).
· There are a ton of great blogs that give away Studio cut files FOR FREE. F-R-E-E.
· With Designer Edition (or higher) you can purchase and use any SVG file from various websites.
· Realize that most designs you are drooling over are fonts (and probably free fonts at that, us crafters are cheap!)
· Think about a Silhouette Design Store monthly subscription.
· DON’T BE DISCOURAGED if designing isn’t second-nature.
