Call to order: Nicki Foran and Tracy Heins, Co – Presidents
· Approval of March 2013 Meetings minutes
· Vote in Jen Tunnell for President and Darin Benson for VP of Social, both are still looking for co- chairs if interested
· Nominations for Golden Acorn and Golden Apple due by May 23rd
Treasurer’s Update: Phil Lucido
· April’s highlights include:
o $5,654 income – this includes $3,556 which was received before April via PayPal, was only recorded now. $3,190 of that was After School Enrichment enrollments from March, the remaining $366 was donations since Sept. 30th
o $8,321 in expenses
o Total ASE receipts $3,475, for a total of $10,789 for the year
o Affiliate Income deposit, $579.85 for Amazon.com purchases made through our link
o $682 from Boeing
o Box tops for Education sent cheque for $116 – year to date total $412
o Received $50 from Skate night
o $8,000 expenses for the third and final science grant cheque
o Changed line item for cost of printing directory from 3K: Membership to 3D: Directory – the Membership line item is now only $10 over budget, not $143
· Budget highlights include: (Please see attached budget)
o Added income line 2K and expenses line 5R International Night, both set at $3000 as a break even event
o Lowered budget for Golden Acorn/Outstanding Educator from $300 to $250
o Raised budget for bank fees from $150 to $1,000 to cover expenses of PayPal 2.5% fees
o Art docent reduced from $500 back to $300
o Zeroed out special allocation at expense line 6G Lego Comp previous year excess funds
o Expense line 6H Science fundraiser zeroed out and hidden next year – remaining $2,520 in this carry over item used to pay portion of $8,000 final science grant cheque
· New line items include:
o Income 2K- International Night ($3000)
o Income 2W- Art night Bake sale ($200)
o Expenses 5R- International Night ($3000)
o Expenses 6K- Science Grant Following Year Reserve ($2500)
· Removed line items from next year’s budget include: (still in database)
o Income 2L- Family Movie night
o Income 2Y- Lego Comp
o Expense 3I- Math Club (Docent)
o Expense 6G- Lego Comp previous year excess funds
o Expense 6H- Science Fundraiser
o Expenses 6K- Science Grant Following Year Reserve ($2500)
· New names on budget include:
o Cash donations (formerly pass the hat)
o Special Fundraising Events (formerly NW Fundraiser)
o Art Night (formerly Art Walk)
o Friendly Fridays (formerly Friends Forever/Circle of Friends)
o Teacher Classroom Funds $150x20 (formerly Teacher Classroom Funds at $125 a class
o Special Fundraising Events (formerly NW Fundraiser)
o Library Carry over (formerly Library Funds – 2009/10 book fair funds
Principal Hale update:
· No talent show this year, will organize and plan one for next school year:
o Should be an all school event with Mrs. Arnold’s involvement
o Will need 1 or 2 parents to help organize
o Start meeting in October with parents, get kids involved in January
o Aim event for May/June 2014
· 6th grade will have recognition event:
o Will be able to perform at this event
o Kids are clear on this
· Classroom configuration being worked on right now
o Possible changes in August based on new/late enrollment
o Staff should be the same
· Half day kindergarten going to 4 day week in Sept. 2013
Enrichment Program update: Jean Tracy
· Compost sale raised $300 to buy bags to line bins that collect food
· After school program Bubble-ology cancelled due to low enrollment
· Spring Book Fair is 5/21-5/24
· Daytime custodian Mr. John is retiring – can we do something for him, maybe nominate for Golden Apple award
