A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE BISHOP DR. A. J. BIXBY, JR. ON TWENTY YEARS OF DEDICATED AND DEVOTED SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE OF SOUTH CAROLINA..

Whereas, Bishop Dr. A. J. Bixby, Jr. is a tireless and long-time worker in God’s vineyard having received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the tender age of eight; and

Whereas, Bishop Dr. A. J. Bixby, Jr. is a strong man of God having been baptized with the Holy Sprit at the age of eleven and embarking on a career as an outstanding minister at the age of twelve; and

Whereas, Dr. Bixby’s life exemplifies the words of that old spiritual which says “may the work I’ve done speak for me;” and

Whereas, Dr. Bixby has proven himself worthy by bearing many crosses and serving as shepherd and watchman over many worthwhile projects including, but not limited to, serving as an evangelist, world mission representative, associate pastor, pastor and currently presiding Bishop of International Gospel Fellowship Outreach Ministries, Inc.; and

Whereas, Dr. Bixby has been instrumental in spearheading important outreach ministries and is especially proud of his outreach ministry designed to give spiritual guidance and encouragement to our youth; and

Whereas, Dr. Bixby has devoted his time and effort to outreach ministries that help to improve the quality of life for all of God’s children through creating and working with food banks, clothing banks, financial assistance, counseling, teaching and ministering to congregations or one on one; and

Whereas, Dr. Bixby is a firm believer in uplifting Christ through every available avenue, he has established IGF Bible College and Theological Seminary for the teaching and training of ministers to further strengthen God’s Christian army; and

Whereas, Dr. Bixby’s mission for Christ is all encompassing he has endeavored to bring the message of Christ through involvement with the ministry of music having founded Gospo Flava Entertainment, an entertainment management company, which manages only anointed gospel recording artists; and

Whereas, Dr. Bixby is prolific in the field of gospel music serving as host and producer of the Good Morning Gospel Show on Power 800 WPJM, working with Atlanta International Record Company, Inc., serving as a songwriter for many spirit-moving gospel songs, and serving as a director and producer of choirs, including the anointed IGF Youth Choir; and

Whereas, Dr. Bixby has also expanded the reach of his ministry through the written word by authoring the inspirational book “Tribulations, Faith and Patience” which is expected to reach book stores and libraries this year. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina wishes to extend hearty congratulations to Bishop Dr. A. J. Bixby, Jr. on twenty years of dedicated and devoted service to the people of South Carolina.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Bishop Dr. A. J. Bixby, Jr.
