SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES, WEEK OF AUGUST 5, 2016

The Board of Trustees met on Friday, August 5, 2016, at the Butler Township Government Center, 3780 Little York Road, Dayton, Ohio, at 4:15pm for a Special Session to transact the business of the township.

Michael Lang, President, called the meeting to order.

NEW BUSINESS

Resolution#16-40 was submitted. Joe Flanagan made a motion for approval of Resolution #16-40, to request the Montgomery County Auditor to Certify the Total Current Tax Valuation in Anticipation of an Additional 3.5 Mill Levy for Police Services, as submitted, with Nick Brusky seconding the motion.

Township Administrator, Erika Vogel noted that the certification was required prior to passing the Resolution to put the Police Levy on the ballot. Once the certification is received, the Trustee’s will meet again on August 9 to pass the resolution declaring it necessary to levy the 3.5 Mil additional tax.

Michael Lang called the roll for a vote: Joe Flanagan – Yes, Nick Brusky – Yes, Michael Lang – Yes. Resolution #16-40 was approved, 3-0.

A request was submitted to authorize Joe Flanagan to obtain a new Federal Tax ID Number for the existing Butler Township Police Levy Committee. It was noted that it will only be used for banking purposes. He indicated that the existing bank account was closed at the end of last year and in order to get a new account a new Federal Tax ID Number is required and nominates Erika Vogel as Treasurer and Mark Adams as Deputy Treasurer. Joe Flanagan made a motion for approval to obtain a new Federal Tax ID Number for the existing Butler Township Police Levy Committee, as submitted, with Nick Brusky seconding the motion.

Michael Lang called the roll for a vote: Joe Flanagan – Yes, Nick Brusky – Yes, Michael Lang – Yes. The motion was approved, 3-0.

Joe Flanagan made a motion for approval to adjourn the meeting at 4:18pm, with Nick Brusky seconding and Michael Lang approving the motion.
