Mini Winter Booklet
For this winter booklet you must include each of the following items. Please pay attention to your spelling, proper punctuation, sentence structure and neatness. Include pictures where you can and a title page. This assignment is due Dec. 16th.
1) A description of a winter/Christmas tradition from another country of your choice.
- what do they celebrate and how?
2) a brief summary of your family’s tradition around Christmas
– do you celebrate Christmas in a special way?
- do you spend it with extended family members or at home with just your immediate family?
- do you eat a traditional meal or dessert?
3) 1 poem about snow, winter or Christmas
– an acrostic or diamante style (refer to attached sheet for examples) or any other form of poetry that
you are familiar with
4) Choose one of the following
– a short story (winter or Christmas theme)
- a summary and critique of a winter or Christmas film or book
- a news article – real or imaginary (winter or Christmas theme)
- a missing person poster of one of Santa’s elves – include a name, description, where last seen,
who to contact and reward (if any) as well as a picture.
5) Choose one of the following – a favourite holiday recipe
- a favourite holiday song
- a few holiday jokes
- a winter fashion page (include pictures)
6) Choose one of the following - your ideal 7 day weather forecast for the holidays
(from Dec. 22 to Dec. 28). Keep in mind whether you would be on the road
travelling somewhere on or before Christmas day.
- your Christmas wish list (include pictures drawn or cut out and name of each
item)
- a gift idea for 3 different members of your family (immediate or extended) that
would not cost you anything (be creative)
