Position Purpose: / Provide leadership, guidance and expertise within Mercy Health Western Australia by coordinating and overseeing ACFI appraisals across each aged care facility to improve and maintain the performance of these entities and meet the strategic objectives of Mercy Health. The role is responsible for overseeing:
·  Timely ACFI submissions across facilities
·  Accurate reflection of resident care needs
·  Maximised income
·  Leading, supporting and educating the ACFI Officers
Qualifications/Experience: / ·  Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
·  Demonstrated experience in aged care and strong knowledge of the ACFI

Leadership and education / ·  Participate in all WA ACFI validation processes
·  Coordinate and facilitate meetings with WA ACFI Officers
·  Identify relevant training/education needs and provide support to ACFI Officers and other staff

ACFI claims supported by evidence / ·  Review all ACFI packs prior to submission to identify missed opportunities and risks in a timely manner
·  Ensure approved ACFI review processes are being undertaken
·  Provide oversight and assistance to ACFI Officers with coordinating assessments, plannings, implementation and evaluation of residents’ clinical care requirements as it relates to ACFI
·  Provide assistance to the ACFI Officers with liaising with GPs, and other allied health personnel where required to ensure relevant documentation and diagnosis are supplied as applicable
·  Provide assistance to the ACFI Officers with consulting with nursing and care staff regarding resident’s clinical care needs / ·  Clinical documentation supports claims.
·  Complex health care claims supported by relevant directives
·  Relevant diagnosis sought and currency maintained.

ACFI claims submitted to ensure optimal funding

/ ·  Provides oversight and guidance to ACFI Officers to ensure effective completion of documentation to support funding claims
·  Ensure defaults are averted
·  Ensure claims are submitted in time frames directed by Mercy Health procedures. / ·  All claims submitted prior to expiry dates for mandatory reappraisals
·  All claims submitted within timeframes for voluntary reappraisals.

Continuous Quality Improvement

/ ·  Provide support and contribute to quality improvement across Western Australia
·  Conduct scheduled audits at all facilities
·  Ensure audit action plans are developed and addressed
·  Work closely with the Aged Care Corporate ACFI Manager to achieve WA ACFI targets / ·  ACFI targets met
·  ACFI audits scheduled and conducted
·  ACFI action plans closed out with set timeframes
Health and Safety / ·  Report hazards, near misses and injuries immediately
·  Comply with risk management policies and procedures and instruction / ·  Complete incident reports
·  Comply with risk management policies and procedures
·  Participate in training and meetings regarding safety
