Instructions for Downloading MathPlayer from the Internet

1. Click on the link at the bottom of the e- book Table of Contents page that says “Download MathPlayer here.”

This link will take you to a page that looks like this:

Design Science MathPlayer™ enables Internet Explorer to display mathematical notation in web pages. It is based on MathML technology and requires Internet Explorer for Windows version 6.0 and later. We make MathPlayer available for free in order to foster the adoption of MathML in the math, science, and education communities.

Download MathPlayer Setup

To install MathPlayer, download MathPlayer's Setup program and run it. The link below will download a file called MathPlayerSetup.exe. Make a note of where you download it to your computer. Once the download has completed, run MathPlayerSetup.exe. If your browser offers to "Open this file once downloaded", click Open. Otherwise use Windows Explorer to open the download folder, and then double-click MathPlayerSetup.exe.

Checking Installation

The MathPlayer Installation Check tests your installation, reports the version currently installed on your computer, and lets you know if you have the most up-to-date version.

3. WHEN A DIALOGUE PROMPT APPEARS, CLICK

ON “SAVE.” Make a note of where you download

the program to your computer. Once the download

has completed, run it (MathPlayerSetup.exe.) by

double clicking on the file name or icon and then

click on “RUN.”

4. A prompt may come up asking “Do you want to run

this file?” Click on “RUN.”

5. Follow the instructions on the Installation Wizard,

clicking “NEXT, ” then “I accept the terms of the

license agreement.”

That’s it!

A box will appear, asking if you want periodic updates about the software.

You will need to restart your computer before using MATHPASS.
