How the idea works (brief summary): Think/pair/share: students sit back to back with partner; call out #, think-write-share with partner
Texture numbers: make numbers with playdoh, sand writing, sandpaper #’s, paint in bag
SWAT: Call out numbers, swat #’s with fly swatter (random order on poster board)
Snowball: #’s on pieces of paper – toss snowballs & read #’s
Wipe out: Pass out #’s on cards to groups of 3-4; call out #’s & students identify #; when all of teams #’s are identified, everyone in group stands up and hollers “wipe-out!”
Body #’s: put students in groups to make #’s with bodies; take a picture and post in room
# of the day: students wear “# of the day”
Ticket out the door: # beside door or on cards for students to identify before they leave the room
Projector & pen: draw objects to count and write # Rainbow writing: write #’s with rainbow colors
Brain Gym counting: count while doing brain gym activities: cross crawls, the “Owl” (cross midline)
