SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION GUIDELINES
2016
The annual scholarship is open to seniors graduating from one of the following public high schools represented by MAREA members: Abbotsford, Athens, Colby, Edgar, Marathon, Marshfield, Mosinee, Pittsville, Spencer, and Stratford.
MAREA will award two $500 scholarship to graduating seniors who intend to enroll in a post-secondary institution to pursue a degree and career in the teaching profession.
The individuals who receives the scholarships will be determined by the scholarship committee of MAREA.
The monetary award will be given to the recipients or to the college following successful completion of one semester of college with proof of registration for second semester.
One of the two winners will be nominated to receive the state (WREA) scholarship of $750-$1000.
This scholarship expires one year after it has been issued.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 grade point average.
2. Applicant must be a Wisconsin resident graduating from a public high school represented by MAREA members.
3. Applicant has a sincere interest in pursuing a degree and career in education.
4. Applicants should have an established record of leadership and character that has been demonstrated both in and out of the classroom.
