Item 1, clarification:
There are two slightly different opinions on the application of complete underlayment under wood shingles. The NRCA does not recommend using underlayment with skip sheathing to provide air movement at the underside of the roofing shingles and prolong the life of the roof. The other opinion is to provide full underlayment and accept a shorter life span of the roof for the increased protection afforded by the full course underlayment. Therefore, Bidders are to following the NRCA's recommendations. The underlayment installation in Section 07317-3.2A may be omitted. However, the underlayment installation specified in Section 07317-3.2 B shall be installed. Only the full course underlayment may be omitted, not the underalyment at intersections, transitions, solid sheeted areas, etc.

Item 3, clarification:
Questions concerning the gauge of metal specified in Section 07620-2.6 B 2.a. for downspouts are correct (0.0217), and is approximately 22 to 23 gauge galvanized sheet metal.
This addendum is hereby made a part of and incorporated herein by reference into Bid #04-37 and the Contract Documents.
