Due: February 12, 2009
Chapter Actors: Summarize a full chapter (chapter choice is first come first serve – no doubles) in video. A script is mandatory: a project will be worth a maximum of half credit without a script. The video must be formatted to share in the presentation on: VHS, DVD, YouTube location, or playable on Windows Media Player. (Up to three members – all on screen)
Rap/Song Summary (music video optional but encouraged): Summarize all 12 chapters in the lyrics of your song or rap. Be prepared to perform your song/rap live or by recording (CD, DVD, or Windows Media Player) and hand-in a typed copy of the lyrics. (Up to two members- both perform)
Comic Book: Write a comic book (computer-aided optional) or a video game that includes all 12 chapters in Lord of the Flies. (Individual Project)
Movie Buff Compare/Contrast Essay: Plan ahead to rent these videos or choose another option. Written parent approval is required for this project because one of the films is Rated R. In a five paragraph compare/contrast essay, focus on three traits you can comment or criticize in both films. (Individual Project but groups viewings okay)

Music Video: Take media clips from either of the two movies (or from popular culture, -see wikipedia- such as The Simpsons, Seinfeld, Twilight Zone) and set them to music. The song you choose must represent themes from the novel and may have been inspired by LotF (see suggestions- such as “Fable” by Gatsby’s American Dream- at wikipedia). You may add quotes from the novel for emphasis.

Language Practice- Simon became in articulate in his effort to express man kind’s essential illness. Inspiration came to him. “What’s the dirties thing there is?” As an answer Jack dropped into the uncomprehending silence that followed it the one crude expressive syllable. Release was immense. Those littluns who had climed back on the twister fell off again and did not mind. The hunter’s were screaming with delite.
