Lincoln Central PACT May Meeting Minutes

Meeting Time: 7:05pm- 7:55pm

Meeting Location: Central Gym

Meeting Attendees: Katelyn DiSano, Pam Mazzenga, Pat Gablinske, Elisa McDonough, Joy Bolduc, Tara Dubois, Paula Howard, and Lisa Iasimone.

1. Call to Order

· Elisa welcomed all

2. Approval of Last Meeting Minutes

· Approval of May meeting minutes

3. Treasurer’s Report

· Our current bank balance is $18,886.92.

· CASEY, LLC, and LC finished under budget.

· Box Tops: We received an April check for $233.84. Total collected for this school year is $1363.04; we had budgeted for $1500. Any additional box tops collected with go into next year’s funds; the next check will arrive in December 2013.

· Yearbook: $5149 collected in sales and boosters. Estimated payout will be $4300 to Lifetouch.

· April Enrichment money paid out to 2nd grade ($400) and 5th Grade ($600)

4. Principal’s Report

· June 20th @ 2:15: in school presentation of Certificates of Completion to the 5th Grade.

· August 22nd: District Wide date for Back to School Bash and Kindergarten Orientations. Times to be determined.

· August 28th: 1st day of school for 2013/2014 School Year.

· Open House Dates tentatively scheduled for September 26th

and October 3rd. An Open House Committee has been formed

to emphasis student involvement in learning for next year’s open house. More details to come.

· Lincoln Public Schools is becoming very active on Facebook.

5. School Committee Report

· Town Financial Meeting to be held on May 13th, all encouraged to attend.

· PTO Liaison Meeting scheduled for May 8th. We are looking for a PTO Liaison and School Committee Representative for the 2013/2014 School Year.

6. Old Business

· Little Ladies: Great turnout and lots of fun. Well under budget.

· Casey: A great success. Looking to use the extra funds raised for a school wide enrichment program on Field Day. Hoping for a “Block Party” to return to the school again.

· Box Tops: Last check of the year has arrived and additional pizza parties will be held before the end of the school year.

· Apparel: completed for this year.

· Yearbook: 207 books sold, estimated arrival date of June 1st.

7. New Business

· Fundraising: Pam Mazzenga working with National Grid on a light bulb selling campaign for the fall. The program will kick off with a 30 minute presentation to the children on the value of energy efficiency. 100% of sales will go to PACT.

· Teacher Appreciation Week is the first week of May. Joyce Harmon and Melissa Lezon to chair the week of events.

· Field Day: Currently scheduled for June 18th with a rain date of June 19th. Date may be switched if necessary and possible to accommodate the “Block Party”. A committee meeting to be held for planning purposes and ideas for a possible craft.

· Field Trips/grants: Kindergarten trip to the Capron Park Zoo which will conclude their Science Unit on Counting Animals 2 by 2. Requested and granted $408.50. Library to purchase E-books thru Scholastic Storia for Grades K-2.

· PACT Elections were held. The PACT board for the 2013/2014 School Year is: Joy Bolduc – President, Christine Avelar – Vice President, Rachel Johnson – Secretary, Pam Mazzenga – Treasurer, Joyce Harmon – Committee Rep, Tara Dubois – Committee Rep.

· Summer Board Transition Meeting to be planned via email.
