Southeastern Louisiana University Agrees To:

1. Coordinate a 4 day Level I workshop at Teacher Education Building in the KIVA from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. A representative from the LOC-TPS program at Southeastern Louisiana University will work with you to schedule an observation of you teaching your primary source lesson to your students during Fall 2015 semester. There are 4 workshop days (1 of these days is a field trip) One teacher observation day for Level I is required in the Fall semester.

2. Provide training materials for each teacher.

3. Allow each teacher $100.00 of classroom primary source materials for completion of the workshop.

4. Remit each teacher $15.00 per day travel allowance for attending the workshop at SELU.

5. Provide lunch for each on-campus workshop day per participant.

The teacher/librarian named in this agreement agrees to:

1. Participate in 4 total days of training and a teacher observation for Level I. You will be given an opportunity to enroll in the Level II graduate class in the future if the Level I workshop is completed. The Library of Congress-TPS program currently pays the full in-state tuition cost for those teachers for a limited number of teachers that have completed the Level I workshop and will enroll in the Level II 100% internet graduate class at Southeastern Louisiana University.

2. Be willing to be observed in a teaching environment using primary sources. All teachers must be committed to teaching at least one primary source lesson in their classroom.

3. All participants must be already employed as a teacher/librarian in a K-12 school for the Fall 2015 by the start of the Library of Congress Level I workshop.

There will be a very strict limit of 25 participants allowed to attend this workshop during the June dates. You will be notified via email of your acceptance. All other applicants that exceed the 25 that were accepted for the workshop will be placed on a waiting list. You must choose one set of dates for the workshop to attend.
