Nature and Purpose of Agency
Lefrak Senior Center’s overall mission is to enhance the quality of life for seniors in the Queens community with love, dignity and respect. Volunteers are needed to help interact and strengthen socialization of senior citizens in the Queens area by participating in various activities.
Tasks Available for Students
Computer Assistance
· Several brand new computers were donated to Lefrak Senior Center. Seniors would love help learning how to email and perform basic Google searches.
General Companionship
· Play board games, ping pong, dominos, bingo and various other recreational activities.
Fitness Assistance
· Conduct your own or assist with current exercise courses being given at the fitness center.
Lunch Distribution
· Volunteers can help with lunch distribution.
New Programming
· Resources and staffing are very limited. Therefore, if any volunteer would like to host their own activity (i.e. salon and spa day, where you provide manicures to seniors; arts and crafts, etc.) simply ask Tammy.
Time Requirements
Monday through Friday 9am – 4pm
Student Awareness/Special Instructions
Students must be informed that there is to be NO FOOD and NO FLUIDS given to any resident at any time. Also, if students are not sure of any situation at anytime during the visit to reach out to the administrator. Lefrak is in St. Paul the Apostle Church. You need to go through the parking lot and it’s the black set of doors on the right.

Take exit 10 E-W toward I-495/Long Is Expy/Eastern Long Is. Keep left at the fork to continue toward I-495 W. Take exit 10 W for I-495 W toward Midtown Tun Manhattan Keep left at the fork to continue toward I-495 W. Keep left at the fork, follow signs for I-495 W/Midtown Tun and merge onto I-495 W. Take exit 20 toward Junction Blvd. Merge onto Horace Harding Blvd/Horace Harding Expy. Turn right at 99th St. Turn left at 55th Ave. Destination will be on the left. Lefrak is in St. Paul the Apostle Church. You need to go through the parking lot and it’s the black set of doors on the right.

Get off at Horace Harding Expy S and 183 St. Take the Q88 Bus from Horace Harding Expy S and 183 St station heading to Elmhurst. Get off at Horace Harding Exp and West side Ave. 10 min walk.
