Laurie Gayle Stevenson

Laurie Gayle Stephenson made her Broadway debut in the Tony award -winning THE SECRET GARDEN where she performed the role of Lily. She starred for two years on Broadway as Christine Daae in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, and made her debut as Christine in PHANTOM with the first national touring company at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

Laurie was an original cast member of THE MUSIC OF ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER IN CONCERT. She toured the U.S. singing opposite Michael Crawford and made her debut in London’s West End at the Palladium with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Most recently Laurie performed AN EVENING OF ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER IN CONCERT at The Hummingbird Theatre in Toronto, as well as The Kennedy Center where she has also performed with Marvin Hamlisch and the National Symphony Orchestra in A TRIBUTE TO RICHARD RODGERS. Laurie is very proud to have been part of Stephen Sondheim’s 75th Birthday Celebration Concert at The New Amsterdam Theatre. She is a regular soloist with the popular BRAVO BROADWAY, having sung with most major symphony orchestras across the country. Laurie had the honor of performing highlights of PHANTOM OF THE OPERA in concert with the late Skitch Henderson and the New Haven symphony, and she was one of four Broadway stars chosen to perform with the Bolshoi Symphony in Moscow. Other concert work includes a workshop of TONIGHT-BERNSTEIN IN CONCERT, and the Lyrics and Lyricists concert- AN EVENING OF JEROME KERN. Her national tours include ANNIE in the role of Grace Farrell, CAMELOT with Richard Harris, and DAMES AT SEA as Ruby. She has also been seen as Young Sally in the all-star revival of FOLLIES, Maggie in A CHORUS LINE, Sandy in GREASE, Nina in A DAY IN HOLLYWOOD, A NIGHT IN THE UKRAINE, Snookie in 110 IN THE SHADE, and in the world premiere of STARTIME as Penny Leslie. Laurie began her career in New York City as a featured soloist at Radio City Music Hall and soon after landed the role of Hallie on NBC’s daytime TEXAS. Laurie recently filmed a special for PBS-PRINCE EDWARD AND STARS OVER MISSISSIPPI. She can also be seen on HBO’s CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR and has appeared on LATE NIGHT WITH DAVID LETTERMAN. She can currently be heard on the original cast albums of THE SECRET GARDEN, PROM QUEENS UNCHAINED, RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR, BRAVO BROADWAY I, BRAVO BROADWAY II, tenor Steve Amerson’s FRONT ROW CENTER ll, her debut solo album TILL YOU FIND YOUR DREAM, and newly released I BELIEVE MY HEART.

Laurie continues to minister throughout the country, sharing her story of faith. She has performed at national fundraising dinners and conferences for Campus Crusade, Family Policy Council with Sean Hannity, Concerts of Prayer, Child Evangelism Fellowship and Alistair Begg’s “Truth for Life” radio ministry. She has appeared as a guest artist at Camp Of The Woods where she performed with Christian recording artist Steve Green, and frequently teams with tenor Steve Amerson in symphony concerts including both Broadway and Christmas programs.

Laurie resides in Ridgewood, New Jersey with her husband, Todd, and daughter, Sarah Kate.
