Main Purpose of job

· To organise an LSU based activity programme encompassing regular recreational sport, volunteering, media and charity opportunities as well as facilitating students to pursue other general interest activities.

· To coordinate the marketing, communication and online presence of LSU London, working to spread the message about the opportunities available to our students and publically celebrate our successes.

· To develop and distribute LSU branded merchandise specifically working to design clothing merchandise for students to purchase.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. To organise an LSU based activity programme encompassing regular recreational sport, volunteering, media and charity opportunities as well as facilitating students to pursue other general interest activities.

· Develop a programme of events centred around different interest groups and promote and assist students in the creation of societies based on these activities

· Recruit and coordinate the student sport coordinators along with facilitating the running of regular recreational sport for students throughout the year

· Find and develop volunteering and charity based opportunities for students

· Organise LSU trips programme including recruiting and coordinating Trip Chaperones if required and possibly acting as a trip chaperone occasionally

· Coordinate media events and training as well as facilitate the practical opportunity for students to film and photograph student union events and where possible, other internal and external high profile events

· Work in partnership with the LSU London team to develop and deliver an Induction events programme for new students at the start of each new year

· Work to increase participation from international students across all union events

· Record and analyse student attendance at events on our data system

· Gather feedback and undertake research related to LSU events in order to continuously work to understand the student cohort and in turn develop our offering on the London campus

2. To coordinate the marketing, communication and online presence of LSU London, working to spread the message about the opportunities available to our students and publically celebrate our successes

· To promote the LSU and LSU London Brand

· Regularly update the LSU London website ensuring the all online content is engaging and relevant for our students

· Coordinate the preparation of content and the distribution of the LSU London weekly email

· Prepare all visual marketing including posters and digital images for the promotion of union activities

· In partnership with the LSU Marketing team, organise the production of physical marketing and information materials for new students

· Coordinate marketing campaigns for the recruitment of student volunteers and representatives

· Support the LSU London Student Experience Intern to publicise our social media channels (Twitter, Facebook & WeChat) and ensure that our students are aware and signed up to/following these channels

· Support the LSU London Student Experience Intern to use the social media channels to publicise our offering including events and support services to our student cohort as well as using it as a mechanism to report on how events have gone and highlighting any major successes

3. To develop and distribute LSU branded merchandise specifically working to design clothing merchandise for students to purchase.

· Work alongside the LSU Marketing Team to design and develop appropriate merchandise for Loughborough London students including clothing, sports wear and other items where appropriate

· Take responsibility for online and offline orders as well as stock control, liaising with other LSU teams where appropriate

· Facilitate the involvement of students in the design of new merchandise and memorabilia, focussing specifically on major events for example Graduation

4. Such other duties that are within your capabilities and assist with Union’s work either in London or Loughborough

· Assisting with general LSU London duties as delegated from time to time, in line with the overall nature of the post

· Ensuring compliance with all aspects of health & safety

· Working with colleagues to ensure a quality of service is maintained.

· Being a generally useful and helpful member of LSU staff and undertaking any further activity as requested

Working Hours

Based on 35hrs per week - flexibility on hours of work will be needed to fulfil projects.

Salary

LSU Scale 6 Point 16, currently £24,000 per annum including London weighting
