ABOUT THE HOST
SJEC is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, Karnataka and is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, India and its three departments viz., E&C, E&E and CSE are accredited by National Board of Accreditation. Established in 2002, the college offers quality education in Engineering, Business Administration and Computer Applications at UG, PG and Research levels. It has well qualified staff, state of art laboratories and all facilities. Presently about 2500 students are studying in the College. The college provides for a wide variety of co-curricular and extra- curricular activities which give a head-start to students, developing their personality and imparting skills of decision - making and leadership. Eight batches have passed out of the College since its inception in 2002. SJEC has recorded 98.27%, 94.32%, 94.59%, 93.23%, 98.08%, 96.98%, 95.43% passes. The College has placed 1424 students through Campus placement.

ABOUT THE CENTRAL LIBRARY
The Central Library of the college has kept pace with emerging challenges, perhaps one of the best technical libraries in the region. With a vision to become a superb centre of stored knowledge resource for education, teaching and research, the library contributes and supports in transforming talent into engineers and business leaders. The state of the art library stretches over 2000 square meters; the library has in its collection more than 35000 volumes with 8900 titles on Engineering, Management and Humanities and subscribes to 120 technical journals, 3152 online journals and 8 online databases. It has the capacity to accommodate 445 students at a time. To promote the use of library resources, it also subscribes to IEEE, ASME, SPRINGER, EMERALD and PROQUEST e-resources through VTU Consortium. It has also established membership with DELNET and NITK for resource sharing and it is enabled with Wi-Fi technology and security systems with Closed Circuit Television System (CCTV). / AMITY

The workshop is jointly organized by DELNET & St. Joseph Engineering College, Mangalore, Karnataka for Library professionals in the region.
WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
The main objectives of DELNET workshop are to enable the participants to get knowledge of accessing to various e-resources and online services provided by DELNET and thus to provide expert assistance to users; to train the participants in adopting Koha: open-source software for library automation purposes, etc.

The Participants will get the knowledge of how to help users to access e-resources for their higher studies and research work and to develop adequate skills for catering to the growing information needs of the users.
Participants will be trained in using Koha: An Open Source
Integrated Library Management Software.
The customized version of the Koha software CD will be given to the participants free of charge. / AMITY
